I feel like getting drunk tonight. I probably won't but every once in a while I get the desire to go out to the pub and get liquored up on alcyholy. Probably tapping into my collective Irish memory. Or my genetic alcoholism.
I just noticed it isn't raining today. Probably because I just looked out the window as the first refrains of Simon and garfunkel's feelin groovy song came on over my totally hip dj style headphones. People singing about being dappled and drowsy and how much they love life will really make you look out the window and smile and notice the weather. I can't believe I didn't notice until now.

I love listening to song after song after song after song that I love. This is a really fun project. Deciding which songs to save is simpler than I imagined. Usually there are one or two songs on any given album that really stand out to me as my favorites. And once I'm done I'll basically have all my favorite songs in the whole world in the same place. I admit that some albums get three songs and some only get one song. Some albums I don't like that much. Music is great.
I read this really great story by Margaret Atwood called Rape Fantasies. I've never read anything by her before. Now I want to read everything she's written. It was the funniest story I have read in a long time. If you can get your hands on it or happen across it in an anthology, read it. That's one thing about going back to school that is cool. I have access to stuff that I would probably never look at otherwise. I guess that is the point. Whatever.

Margret Atwood IS good. You should read The Handmaid's Tale. It's got rape in it, too. And stoning. And cat killing. And babies. Awesome.
I thought I remembered you mentioning the handmaid's tale in your blog before. I'm going to go tomorrow to see if I can find it real cheap at a used bookstore. The only thing I knew about her before was that she was Canadian because Moxy fruvous sang about her in "my baby love a bunch of Authors" "My baby and me went to a party, some friends my girl says she knew, but what a sight cause its author's night and the place looks like a who's who! Now I'm poundin' the Ouzo - with Mario Puzo
Who's a funny fella? - W.P. Kinsella. Who brought the cat? - would Margaret Atwood? Who needs a shave? - he's Robertson Davies!"
