Death and destruction.
So some people don't like to be publically angry about recent deaths and destruction but I will tell you one thing, nothing pisses me off more than people fucking up and dying just like that.
I guess Don Knotts was kind of old. whatever. Don Knotts always reminded me of my grandpa. Not really his personality all that much but sort of like Don Knott's brother who cursed a lot more and played the harmonica. For instance:
That's about it in a nutshell.

Said steam, steam, a hundred bad dreams, going up to harlem with a pistol in his jeans
I love it so much that this Jenny Lewis girl is the same person who was in Troop Beverly Hills and Wizard with little Kevin Arnold.
How great is that! And if you go to her site you can listen to her songs. I've heard a little bit of Rilo Kiley before and wasn't really into it but I really like some of the songs I've heard from this solo album. She reminds me a little of Elliot Smith.

I don't want my hair to fall out. I don't wanna be filled with doubt. I don't wanna be a good boy scout. I don't wanna grow up
I really really love Martha Wainwright. Especially the song Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole. She is awesome. Totally, dude.

I'm gonna leave this place better than the way I found it was. And Jesus gonna be here, gonna be here soon.
I need to figure some shit out. How come I panic when I am actually doing something with my life rather than when I sit on my ass for 3 years and do nothing with my life? How come? I'm just going to go into debt and go to school and get as much out of this school crap as I can. I'm going to get internships and shit. I'm going to do it all right this time. And then someday maybe I'll make enough money to pay it all back. Or I won't. I'll go to jail for unpaid loans. That will be a life experience. Then I'll write a book and make millions but they won't be able to take any of it because I'll have already served my mother fucking time. That is my life plan. It is a lot to get done in the next 30 years or however much longer I'm going to live. At least in jail they'll pay for my mother fucking insulin.
On a lighter note I finally got to watch America Idol last night!
I still don't have a job though.
I'm thinking of becoming an academic.

Brand New Shoes, Walking Blues
So I gots ta get a job, yo. I've been checking out the classifieds and I can't help but get hung up on the crazy jobs I find. I am so tempted. I found this one today.
Computer/Internet Can you navigate your way through the Internet? I'm looking for someone to search online dating services and help me find a life time companion. If this job sounds interesting call, Charles @ 541-955-1410
I don't think I would be very good at finding someone a life time companion. Isn't this what Will Smith did in that movie?

And its a four, five, six, seven, grab your umbrella, grab ahold of me cause I'm your favorite fella.
I need oxygen to breath. Little known fact.
I spent the weeks end with my parents in Yrethra. It was lovely. Pastoral. I watched the aristocrats with my dad. Every daughter should watch the Aristocrats with their dad. We also rented 40 year old virgin because my dad had never seen it. And then I made up this joke, stealing from both movies.
You know how I know that Santa's reindeer are gay? Because Santa's dick tasted like reindeer poop.
I like that joke because it has so many levels. In fact, I'm thinking of writing an explication of that joke instead of one of the poems I am supposed to be writing an explication of right now. Because there is just so much there one can analyze. Scansion, allusions, my god it is a veritable treasure trove of poetic tropes and conceits!
We had to post on a discussion board on line in this same English class where I'm writing this poetry explication. I wrote about masturbation in Frost's "birches" I am dangerous when I have any sense of anonymity whatsoever. Most people didn't even read the comments everyone wrote. Oh well.
So much depends on a red wheel barrow, as the old saying goes.
I'm going to get certified in Human Resources. That is my pseudo-plan at the moment. Once the old BA is out of the way, scooda hoo scooda hay. And the BM. Once the BM is out of the way. My aunt describes my blog on her blog as "the mildly scatalogical blog" of her niece. I feel like I need to live up to this at times. Funny story, I didn't know what a BM was until I watched the move Happiness (an awesome fucked up crazy-assed movie) and a kid in it gets anally abused and tells his mom he has blood in his BM. I had to ask what that meant and no one in the room believed me that I didn't know. What with my reputation and all. I should have listed to my grandpa on that one. If you don't know, don't ask.
Oh and on Thursday one of my teachers asked to keep my essay to make copies to show her future students how to write a fucking essay. And then next in my history class I barely got a passing grade on an essay. Just goes to show. You can't please everybody. Or that second professor is a retard. I have my own theories.
If I got a cell phone it would be one with those cameras. Then I could take clandestine pictures of my boyfriend Phil at the coffee shop and then build a whole new blog devoted only to him and post all kinds of pictures of him.
ho boy.

Give me a sugar pill and watch me just rattle down the street.
Acetaminophen. You see the medicine.
So today my coffee shop boyfriend and I had this meaningful conversation: (my jacket string flings up and hits me in the face as I stand in line to get my coffee) Phil: Your jacket is attacking you! Me: Yes. (under my breath) viciously... I want that. (I point to today's special coffee Black Forest Mocha) Phil: Would you like that in paper or porcelain? Me: (ashamed, again too quietly and almost under my breath) Paper. Phil: Did you say paper? Me: (loudly, almost tourette's-like) Yes! Phil: Okay. Me: Thanks.
What is wrong with me?
Hey who thinks I should try to get a part-time job at this coffee shop so that Phil and I can become best friends for life? I've been thinking about it. I'm always here. I have coffee slinging experience. It is very close to where I live. I could walk to work if I wanted to. They are always hiring new people and people are always leaving. Plus, I love jobs where you get tips. Especially tips in change. I love change. Dinosaur-head has been looking a little pathetic lately. Dinosaur-head is a dinosaur cookie jar I've had since junior high that I put all my spare change into and routinely, about once a month, count and put into those paper change holders that the banks tell me they don't use anymore. I usually do this when I'm done reorganizing my cds. This takes care of my womanly organizational needs all in one shot and I'm good for another month.
I also keep my spare keys in dinosaur-head and some other vital important things because It is the one thing in my life I keep a close eye on and have never lost or broken. So if I ever say, "look in dinosaur-head" now you'll know what I mean.
Do you think that this picture is cute enough to go on this cute overload website?
My aunt took it of little baby chachi when he was just a little baby puppy doggy. Ohhhh. Awwwwwe. Oooooohh.

Completely baffled by a backward indication that an Inspired word will come across you tongue.

These are pictures my friend Becky took while she and her girlfriend Kristy were out walking. What a funny thing to come across on a lovely walk in southern California. It is nice to see hopeful signs in the world, albeit shit.
So things in the world aren't all that great these days. Sad times for some people. But I don't want to go into all that.
Didja hear about the snafu with the press at the white house hearing some of what Bush was saying somewhere else after he had kicked the reporters out? I'm not sure what all he said before they realized the press was still able to hear him back in Washington but the first thing he said was that what he was going to say should not leave this room. I guess it was just more of the same of what he's said to defend wire taps. It was kind of funny.
Also, that Michael Brown guy is a royal piece of shit. I hate his big brown ass. I've heard some of his testimony on the radio and it is so obvious he feels no remorse or any personal guilt for the shitty assed response to katrina and what I refer to as "the hurricane that never happened" rita. Poor rita. Nobody ever did pay attention to anyone named Rita. Except that lovely meter maid.
Sometimes I get political. You'd better watch out!
I'm all through the M's working backwards alphabetically on the downloading my two favorite songs off every album project. Now I just have L-A to finish. More than halfway done. How exciting! Except that I recently started making "back-ups" of my brother's cds so I may not be halfway done if I start on those.
I have to go to a cast party tomorrow. Then we have performances monday, tuesday and wednesday. Why, amandapants, oh why would you have a cast party 4 days before the show even closes? Good fucking question. I hate cast parties. I could go back and find the stuff I've written about cast parties in the past on this very blog but that would take a small amount of effort and also I would probably get caught up in the plot of my own life and spend the next hour or two just reading up what what I've been up to over the last year. So I will just say this: I hate cast parties and if you really want to know how much you can read back to some of my old entries where I was in a play and had to go to a cast party. Then you'll understand more fully.
I will close with one final picture since I have been slacking on posting pictures now that I can more freely with my wittle waptop. Did I ever mention how much I want to marry Jim Shelley? I do. I wish he wasn't in china. And didn't have some chinese girlfriend. And had any romantic interest in me at all. But that is just a detail. This is a picture of him with a mask he made for a mardi gras party. Every year no matter where he is in the world he has a mardi gras party and parade and asks people to bring masks. This one was inspired by an attack on a chinese man that he witnessed on the street. Whack fol the diddle o the die do day.

Just when I thought that my vista was golden in hue.
I got a B on my first assignment upon my return to university life. I feel like a failure.
My play isn't as bad as I had led people to believe apparently. Although, I still think it is. I think the people are wrong. The People. The "people" being my mother and father and brother and grandmother and the friends and family of the cast. We have all been getting responses from audience members that surprise us, to say the least. It is freaking bizarre.
I have to start looking for a job soon. I have one more week of performances and then I will feel like a total wastrel if I don't get a part time job. A burden on society.
The good news is that I dug up my old age of mythology game to play. I am set for life now. It has the same addictive qualities that civilization has. I have forbade myself to buy Civ 4 until I have a job. But doesn't this look like fun?!?!
Hey kids, Don't Smoke.

Please don't pull me out, this is how I would want to go.
I love: The Baxter
Thanks for suggesting it to me through netflix, Justin!!!! I love: Michael Showalter. The Baxter. Here is a picture of him that I took after we got into a big fight one morning. But he apologized and bought me a pool table afterwards. Which was nice of him. And then we both took a little catnap and woke each other when the sloppy joes were ready. It was a lovely day.
I also really enjoyed "Me and You and Everyone We Know" which is another move suggested by the media nazi. I am kind of enthralled by Miranda July who wrote and directed and stars in the movie. I like her name a lot. I was born in July and my name sounds like Miranda and when I see her name it feels like me. Isn't that weird?
Even weirder is the prayer group meeting next to me in this coffee shop.
I just watched Capote. It was great. I should read In Cold Blood. I should read a lot of things. Yes.

24 and there's so much more. Love Lost, such a cost, give me things that don't get lost.
I feel like getting drunk tonight. I probably won't but every once in a while I get the desire to go out to the pub and get liquored up on alcyholy. Probably tapping into my collective Irish memory. Or my genetic alcoholism.
I just noticed it isn't raining today. Probably because I just looked out the window as the first refrains of Simon and garfunkel's feelin groovy song came on over my totally hip dj style headphones. People singing about being dappled and drowsy and how much they love life will really make you look out the window and smile and notice the weather. I can't believe I didn't notice until now.
So far I have downloaded my two favorite songs off of these albums onto my laptop:
Simon & Garfunkel - Simon & Garfunkel Collect Discs 1-3
Titanic:The Musical - Original Broadway Cast Recording
They Might Be Giants - John Henry
Team America World Police - Motion Picture Soundtrack
Teenage Fanclub - Thirteen
Urinetown The Musical - Soundtrack
The Unplugged Collection - Volume One
Velvet Goldmine - Soundtrack
The Vines - Highly Evolved
Suzanne Vega - Solitude Standing
Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes
The Velvet Underground - Live MCMXCIII
The Velvet Underground - The Best of the Velvet Underground
The Vaselines - The Vaselines
Martha Wainwright - Martha Wainwright
Rufus Wainwright - Want Two
Rufus Wainwright - Poses
Rufus Wainwright - Rufus Wainwright
Rufus Wainwright - Want One
Loudon Wainwright III - Unrequited
Loudon Wainwright III - Attempted Mustache
Loudon Wainwright III - Last Man on Earth
Loudon Wainwright III - Album III
Mike Watt - Ball Hog or Tugboat?
Ween - Chocolate and Cheese
Weezer - Green Cover
Weezer - Blue Cover
Wilco - Summerteeth
Wesley Willis - Fabian Road Warrior
Wyclef Jean - The PreacherÂs Son
Wicked - Original Broadway Cast Recording
M. Ward - Transfiguration of Vincent
M. Ward - Transistor Radio
Tom Waits - Closing Time
Tom Waits - Mule Variations
Tom Waits - The Black Rider
Tom Waits - Raindogs
Tom Waits - Bone Machine
The White Stripes - White Blood Cells
The White Stripes - Elephant
XTC - Skylarking
Neil Young - Decade
I love listening to song after song after song after song that I love. This is a really fun project. Deciding which songs to save is simpler than I imagined. Usually there are one or two songs on any given album that really stand out to me as my favorites. And once I'm done I'll basically have all my favorite songs in the whole world in the same place. I admit that some albums get three songs and some only get one song. Some albums I don't like that much. Music is great.
I read this really great story by Margaret Atwood called Rape Fantasies. I've never read anything by her before. Now I want to read everything she's written. It was the funniest story I have read in a long time. If you can get your hands on it or happen across it in an anthology, read it. That's one thing about going back to school that is cool. I have access to stuff that I would probably never look at otherwise. I guess that is the point. Whatever.
